Kitchen Island Design: How To Design The Best Island For Your Individual Kitchen

 

Need to put on an extra cook top? How about putting up a whole island in your kitchen that takes care of your cook top, a small refrigerator, a sink and some drawers as well as cabinets? 

A kitchen island design in all shapes and sizes i.e. long, rectangular, triangular or rounded, French, contemporary or country you name it and it is there.  Making the right choice keeping your kitchen floor as well as your kitchen walls is necessary.

Measure your kitchen and kitchen furniture. This is an easier way to find out if your kitchen island will fit in your kitchen or not and leave enough space for you to move around.  Height of your island can match that of your countertops so that it does not look out of place. 

You can either get a fixed kitchen island or a rolling casters one.  The movable ones can have a steel or wood countertop so that it is not much heavy to carry it around.  You can also make a kitchen island yourself and that would save the cost as well but do take an expert’s advise as getting the exact size all by yourself can be some work.

If you are looking for a simple kitchen island then go for a simple four legged one but shedding a few extra dollars you can get cabinets and drawers fixed in it which will come handy when you will have cutlery and china allover your kitchen table and it will give a classy rich look as well.
